The Eggshell RainPro gutter system was installed to improve drainage. Microguard leaf shedding system was installed above the gutter to prevent leaves from clogging the system. This view shows the front corner of the Columbia, MD home. The Cobble Stone 4" picture frame trim around the windows creates a nice contrast to the Monterey Taupe siding color. Here you see closer view of the Timberline   roofing by GAF. The Weathered Wood roof color blends well with the siding and trim. Ridge vent was installed along the peak of the roof for ventilation. Using Hardie trim in conjunction with the siding, creates a consistent look on the entire house.

This is an angled view of the right side of the house where the new window was installed. The 7" exposure of the siding combined with the cedarmill texture have the same appearance as real wood.  Fiber cementsiding has become a popular choice

in Columbia, MD. An 8" Cobble Stone band trim was installed at the bottom. This gives the siding a 6" clearance from grade. This is an important detail to follow when installing James Hardie siding.

This is a closer view of a new window that was installed on the side of the home. The window was added to allow more light on the interior. The Bronze window color blends well with the siding/trim colors. Notice the detail in the siding texture.

Here you can see a closer view of the front porch. All of the trim and ceiling components were replaced with Hardie materials. Hardie smooth ceiling panels finished the ceiling. Custom trim details were used for the columns and beams. The new look is very welcoming as you appoach the home.

OVERVIEW

This home in Columbia, MD had cedar siding on the exterior. The homeowner was ready for a new look! 

​This house was built in 1977. The original wood siding was starting to warp. The owner knew it was time to either paint or replace the siding. After pricing both options, they decided it was time for a change. The owner researched many different exterior products. Hardie siding was the best option to restore the orignal wood look.  Hardie house wrap was installed to create a thermal barrier. Hardieplank cedarmill siding was installed. The color of this home is Monterey Taupe with Cobble Stone trim. Hardie products are an excellent way to recreate the look of wood without the maintenance. The existing roofing was leaking, faded and damaged. GAF Timberline shingles were installed. The roofing color selected is Weathered Wood. The home originally had aluminum windows. The seals had failed in most of the glass units. The frame were leaking a significant amount of air. A Provia Signet Series front door was installed to complete the look. This customer now has a beautiful, low maintenance exterior. This image shows a close up view of a Marvin replacement window installed on the left side of the house. The Cobble Stone trim creates an appealing contrast to the Bronze window frame. Monterey Taupe Hardie Siding is often selected with Cobble Stone as the trim color. This side of the house receives more sunlight. Notice how the siding color looks slightly lighter?
