This home in Sterling, VA had the original vinyl siding on the exterior. The original exterior was outdated and the owner knew it was time for a transformation!
This house was built in 1999. The windows were drafty and the roof was aging. The original vinyl siding was fading and warping in many areas. The owners were ready for a complete exterior transformation. After pricing multiple products, they decided Hardie siding, GAF Roofing, Pella windows, and Provia doors were the right building materials for their home. The owners considered many different exterior products. Hardie siding was the best option to for durability and design. Hardie house wrap was installed to create a thermal barrier. Hardie shingle and Board & Batten were installed as accents. The color of this home is Arctic White. Hardie products create the look of wood without the maintenance. A Provia Signet Series front entry door was installed. Pella Lifestyle windows with black exterior as well as new sliding doors on the rear help complete the new look. GAF Timberline CS roofing was selected to as the roofing material. This customer now has a beautiful, low maintenance exterior. The Pella Lifestyle frames offer a high end appearance without the maintenance of traditional wood. This Pella line offers different exterior colors without an increase to the cost of the windows. Wood clad windows won't have the expansion & contraction issues that come wih vinyl frames in darker colors. This image also shows the Board & Batten Arctic White Hardie Siding in direct sunlight.
