OVERVIEW
This home in Leesburg, VA had asbestos siding on the exterior. The homeowner wanted a new look!
This house was built in 1908. The original asbestos siding was cracking and coming loose. The owner knew it was time to repair or replace the siding. After pricing both options, they decided it was time for a change. The owner researched many different exterior products. Hardie siding was the best option to restore the orignal historic feature of the home. Hardie house wrap was installed to create a thermal barrier. Hardieplank cedarmill siding was installed. The main siding color of this home is Cobble Stone. Boothbay Blue Hardie shingles were installed in the gables. I found Custom Concepts Construction to be very knowledgeable, very professional, caring, and attentive.
This photo shows a view of the siding installed on the right gable. Hardie shingles were installed to accent the gables. There is an 8" Arctic White band trim separating the different siding styles. The gable vent received the same crown header detail as the windows. Not all siding contractors are capable of correctly installing this much detail. Be sure to hire Hardiesiding contactors directly from their website.
This image shows a view from the rear of the house. The Arctic White trim creates an appealing contrast to the Cobble Stone and Boothbay Blue Hardie Siding. This side of the house is exposed to the sun. Notice how the siding color looks slightly lighter? New colonial style railings were installed on the rear deck.
